Blaine Klein: Percussion

Blaine Klein graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's in Percussion Performance. While at the University of Akron, Blaine studied under Dr. Larry Snider, Matt Dudack, and Mark Gonder. Blaine has a wide variety of teaching and playing experience including drumset, mallet instruments, marching percussion instruments, steel drums, and many more--all of various styles. He has taught at several local schools including Firestone, Nordonia, GlenOak, Jackson, Mentor, and Connotton Valley. During his time at these schools he has taught drumlines, front ensembles, percussion ensembles, indoor drumlines, and private lessons.

While attending the University of Akron, Blaine was a participant in symphonic band, marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, steel band, Brazilian ensemble and combo, and African ensembles. He also worked at Zampino's Drum Shop and ProLogix Percussion, both located in North Canton, Ohio. Blaine has performed with So Percussion, the Richmond Symphony, and appeared on “Hammer on Steel,” an Emmy nominated DVD featuring the University of Akron Steel Drum Band. He is a member of PAS (Percussive Arts Society), enjoys composing music for his band, Copali, and spending time outside.
