Mikayla Kreider: Piano

University of Akron, Piano Performance

Mikayla Kreider began playing the piano at the age of 13. With the guidance of several different teachers, she’s had the opportunity to perform in many private studio recitals, masterclasses, and fundraisers. She is currently majoring in piano performance at The University of Akron under Mr. Philip Thomson. At the end of her freshman year, she was the winner of the Tannenbaum Memorial Scholarship for most outstanding piano student.

Mikayla’s interest in teaching has been cultivated by exposure to many different pedagogical styles and experience helping with younger students. She tailors lesson material to individual students’ needs, with emphasis on building strong technique, accumulating repertoire, improving reading skills, and fostering a deeper understanding and enjoyment of music.
