Kristofor Downs - Guitar

A recent transplant to the Akron area, guitarist Kristofor Downs brings with him almost a decade of teaching experience, and many more as a performer. While his concentration is classic guitar, Kris is well versed in a variety of different styles and genres.
In addition to his pedagogical emphasis on guitar, he has served as a guest lecturer for the Columbus (GA) Chapter of NSAI, and Little Five Points School of Music in Atlanta. Before completing his Bachelor’s degree, he worked as a showband guitarist on cruise ships playing a variety of music from jazz and Motown to top 40 Hits with both small combos and a ten piece band. As a composer, his works have been performed by upper-level university guitar ensembles.
Most recently, he has served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the University of Akron, where he earned his Masters in Music Performance.
