Alison Fort

Originally from rural Minnesota, Alison is a piano and violin instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages. Alison fell in love with the violin at a young age. Classically trained, she has been playing for over 20 years. She has performed with the Maui Chamber Orchestra and Hawaii Pacific University Orchestra, in addition to playing in string quartets for weddings and special events, church orchestras, and various ensembles. A piano accompanist in churches for nearly 20 years, she has coordinated vocal and instrumental ensembles and guided her students to become involved in church musicianship and other performance opportunities in the community. Beginners start with the Faber Piano Adventures or Suzuki Violin School series. These materials lay a solid foundation in the basics through fun and engaging musical selections. Scales, exercises, and technique builders are incorporated according to student’s abilities. Students often love to focus on specific styles or supplemental pieces in addition to the lesson material. Other genres popular with students include pop, jazz, country, fiddle, contemporary Christian & hymns, movie & video game soundtracks, and holiday-themed pieces!
