Steve Eckert: Percussion, Drums

Steve is a native of Ohio where he has studied, played, and taught percussion for the last twenty-five years. He has studied drumset with Bob Mckee and Mark Gonder and orchestral percussion with Dr. Larry Snider at the University of Akron where he received a Bachelor of Music Performance. During his time at U of A, Steve attended the PASIC (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in both Nashville and Orlando, representing his University at various clinics and workshops. Steve has been a staple of many local band programs through high coaching of drumline and other percussion groups, including St. Vincent St. Mary, Revere, Springfield, Mantua and Chagrin Falls.
Steve has had many students go on to pursue music at the University level and professionally. He continues to teach lessons and perform all styles of music. In his spare time, Steve likes to play in his band, Favorite Mistake, and watch football.
