What makes my teaching unique

Tyler has played guitar in countless different settings and that experience brings a unique perspective on not only how to play guitar but how to listen to guitar as well. Tyler’s approach is friendly, easy-going, and open minded - to uncover what it means to play guitar and get excited about the importance of playing an instrument.

About Tyler

Tyler Bohinc has been playing guitar for nearly two decades. He began playing at age 11 and started his journey with the blues and rock and roll. Tyler has been playing in bands and performing since middle school and continues to perform at venues, festivals, and other local music spots. After playing in punk and metal bands, Tyler moved on to jazz and studied at the University of Akron’s Jazz program for about a year. Tyler continued to play in punk bands, jazz ensembles, and solo guitar while beginning to compose more ambient works for guitar as well as studio work for hip hop artists. Tyler’s recent focus has been bluegrass flatpicking and old time music. For the last two years, Tyler has been performing and studying as a bluegrass guitar player and folk song musician. Tyler is also an avid ukulele and banjo player and can play rock and hip hop drums. Tyler’s vast experience is an asset in his approach to teaching and playing.
